This afternoon we had our annual church conference to review this last year, and plan for all of the wonderful things we will do in the coming year! Thanks to those of you who have volunteered your time to be a part of this meeting, and a BIG thanks to those who have stepped up to take on a role in the church in 2015!!! To close our meeting, Rev. Dr. Tara Sutton gave a beautiful sermon on the 2015 plan for our church family to "Encounter the Holy". As we look forward to next year and work on living a Godly life and loving thy neighbor, we will also take the time to remember an important lesson that Jesus taught. I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet. So you also should wash another's feet. I have given you an example. You should do as I have done for you. --John 13:14-15 Jesus used footwashing to illustrate the importance of caring for and serving others; it also represents the cleansing of our sins that we experience as we walk through and engage in worldly experiences. Looking ahead to 2015 we have been challenged with the task of serving others in our congregation...through footwashing! Rev. Sutton paved the way by selflessly washing the feet of Pastor Scott and one of our long-time members, Hazel Voorhees. How will we do?
Well....you'll have to come to church and see! ;)
